Oh well. The motorcycle is a lot of fun, though I'm still new enough at it that it requires a fair amount of concentration - I have to think through everything (shifting, coming to a stop, turning technique, etc). It gets easier all the time. I have virtually no commute, so I don't really expect it to cut down on it too much. I haven't ridden to work yet because I'm not sure I'm ready to deal with traffic just yet. No, I won't be cutting through lanes of traffic - too many crazies out there in cars talking on their phones while they eat breakfast, shave (or do makeup), while yelling at their kids. I’m hoping to start posting more often, though my motivation continues to be a problem. Oh well.

I also wasn't very smart about my time usage when I was making it; I should have been chopping onions and garlic, and shredding cheese while the potatoes boiled. It's really the stupid potatoes, plus the onions took some time to sauté. Repeatedly having to bring the whole mess to a boil took time too. Oh well. I agree with Kelsey, maybe I do just need to find some more simple recipes. That's cool about the 9-80 shift; I think I'm jealous. You say "this is why I don't cook" but of course it's going to take a while and make a mess when it's something complicated like Cheddar and Ale soup (well, I don't actually know how complicated that is because I've never made it, but it sounds more complicated than the stuff I make). The key to cooking, is to find the easy quick foods that taste good but don't take long. :) Potatoes always take forever. Very cool to hear your mom will be able to come out an visit in October. I'd like to travel somewhere warmer in Oct... unfortunately with my lack of vacation days, it looks like the farthest I'll get is Chicago to visit my ex-roomie. Did I tell you I get to start a 9-80 schedule in Nov, though? I'm excited! :) Anyway, I guess I'll have to start getting on your case again about posting more often -- sounds like I've been slacking.
